I am so excited to finally launch the debut of my site and look forward to sharing simple ways to create energy, strength and health with you. I believe that a strong mind plus a strong body creates a strong and healthy woman. My mission is to keep you motivated and inspired to get - and stay - healthy while achieving your fitness goals.
This will be my platform to share the knowledge that I have learned over the years by both life experience as well as in the classroom. You can have all the knowledge in the world about how to eat healthy, how to exercise and why you should do these things, it's the implementing that becomes the issue. We all know what we "should" do, it's the convincing ourselves to take action that becomes the problem.
Achieving health and fitness all starts with the mind. Once you finally get that "health" message rolling, the rest will just fall into place. You'll stop "hating" exercise and you won't feel "deprived" of your favorite foods. A healthy mind set is about respecting yourself and your body while appreciating the dynamic woman you are!
That is my goal for this site. I want YOU to focus on YOU without ever feeling guilty about investing in yourself. I'll be giving you the tools you'll need as well as providing you with the motivation to win the war against fat, age and disease.
As I stated earlier, I believe that you can change your life by changing your thoughts so start thinking. Ask yourself just what it is that would make you truly happy with your health and/or your body. "I will be happy and satisfied when I (fill in the blank)." If you answered, lose weight, tone muscles, have more energy, can fit into that bathing suit or anything of that nature start working on it.
These "issues" that most, if not all, women suffer from at one point or another weigh heavily on our minds. We have grown accustomed to beating ourselves up on a daily basis and my mission is to stop this unnecessary ritual. Trust me when I say this, it is a huge waste of energy and isn't worth the time or effort that we devote to it.
Let me ask you this....Would you tell your best friend that she's fat, a failure or will never reach her goals? Of course you wouldn't, so why would you keep running this "unhealthy" message in your mind? Treat yourself with the respect and kindness that you so willingly treat your friends with and start giving yourself some credit. That's rule #1. You deserve to be healthy, happy and fit so start thinking this way!
My goal is to show you that a little exercise and making healthier food choices goes a long way and finally ends this "self-battle" forever! You'll blast the fat and build lean muscle while becoming a strong and powerful woman.
I'm paraphrasing, but I've heard that the fastest way to insanity is to continually do the same behavior over and over while expecting a different result. I hope this site gives you incentive to think differently while becoming fit and energized.
Power is in the mind set. Change your mind, change your life! So I ask you, Are you going to be pitiful or powerful? Only you have the answer.

An Easy Way to Increase Your Metabolism and Burn More Fat

What if I told you there was something that you could eat which burns calories as you are eating it, keeps you satisfied and full for hours and builds muscle to help your body burn fat all day? Peak your interest?? There is such a food. It is called protein! Here are a few things you may not know about protein and the wonderful metabolism boost it provides according to the Abs Diet for Women.
Muscle is the key to activating your metabolism. Build a pound of muscle and your body burns an additional 50 calories per day just to keep that muscle alive. Muscle burns fat! So, if you build 6 pounds of muscle on your body, you will burn up to 300 more calories each day and turn your body into a fat-burning machine.
Did you know that between 10-30% of the calories you burn each day are burned by simply digesting the food you are consuming? However, not all foods are created equal when it comes to the calories which are burned to digest them. According to the Abs Diet for Women, your body uses more calories to digest protein (about 25 calories burned for every 100 calories consumed) than it does to digest fats and carbohydrates (10 to 15 calories burned for every 100 calories consumed). This means that incorporating lean, healthy proteins with every meal or snack, in a sensible way, will burn more calories to help digest the food you are eating. Also, higher protein diets control a stress hormone, called cortisol, which causes fat to be stored in the abdominal region.
Your basal metabolism, or resting metabolism, refers to the calories you burn throughout the day to sustain your bodys natural functions such as your heart beating, lungs breathing, cells dividing and muscles repairing. This is referred to as the metabolic process and uses between 60-80 percent of your daily calories to perform these functions. It can take between 24-48 hours to repair and make new muscle fibers after a workout, so by lifting weights 3 times a week your body should essentially stay in a muscle-building and thus fat-burning mode every day.
Adding up the daily calorie burn that comes from physiological function to simply keep your body alive is something you probably don’t think of to often. The point that I want you to realize is just how important the foods you consume are to your body. This is precisely why I advocate incorporating lean, healthy proteins with every meal and/or snack. Protein not only uses more calories to digest than carbohydrates and fat, but it also controls how quickly food is moved through your body. This means that you will stay fuller for a longer period of time when you consume fat burning, muscle building protein with every meal.
You can not out train a poor diet!
If you are working out, yet consuming a poor diet, you are completely sabotaging your efforts. It is my job to find the fastest, smartest way to help you achieve a healthier body, wellness and energy. The quickest way I know to see the results of all the time and effort you are putting into your workout is to include lean protein with every meal. Your body has a natural fat burner called muscle, when you increase your muscle tissue, you increase your metabolism!
